A few days ago, Paris' bid entered another key stage as it revealed to the world its international slogan: “Made for sharing”. This strapline is intended as a strong message sent out to the world, as sharing has been, right from the start, at the heart of the French bid, supported by AccorHotels.

The unveiling of the slogan for the Paris 2024 bid, which took place at a spectacular light show at the Eiffel Tower and brought together many French athletes, therefore marks the launch of the international campaign to promote France's bid to organize and host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

’Made For Sharing’ shows that Paris is a city ready to welcome the world”, explains the French Olympic athlete and Paris 2024 Co-Chairman, Tony Estanguet. “[…] We want to share the passion and purpose of the Games and the beauty of our city in 2024. Young people have made sharing a way of life, all with the aim of building a fairer, more sustainable and more human world of exchange and progress. This is the mindset that led Paris 2024 to adopt ’Made For Sharing’ as its international bid strapline.”

Sharing the passion of sport and of Olympism.

Through this slogan, Paris 2024 aims to share with the world its passion for the Games, a unique celebration of sport and Olympism, right at the heart of France's largest cities, which will then be redesigned as true urban sports parks. The finest monuments in Paris and France will thus offer an extraordinary setting for the Games that will undoubtedly be etched in the history of sport and Olympism.

Sharing a common sense of social and environmental responsibility

But in addition to rousing extraordinary emotions, Paris 2024 wishes to hold Games that are truly meaningful.

The French bid envisages the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games as Games that are a source of progress, for the benefit of the people and communities. So it will be about using innovative, collaborative and inclusive measures to build a positive future, starting today, so as to leave a more sustainable, socially responsible legacy for tomorrow, for our planet and our society.

Following on from the Paris Agreement on climate change, Paris 2024 therefore wants to make its Games a model of environmental excellence, notably through use of what is renowned as the world's most efficient  public transport system, and an unprecedented strategy for reducing carbon emissions (55% less than the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games). So this is the greenest bid since the Games began!

Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, shares her view of this event: “The Games are an extraordinary driver of social, economic and environmental progress. Paris 2024 has an optimistic and inclusive vision for the Games. It carries a message of hope for a younger generation, for whom the protection of our planet is a real priority
