For this global event, AccorHotels reaffirms its commitment and highlights its main initiatives in favour of gender parity.
With 250,000 employees in all four corners of the globe, diversity is a daily reality for our Group. This ambition, which we want to take forward with you, forms part of a drive to be open, promote equality in the workplace and prevent discrimination, everywhere we operate.
2018 is a really important milestone in AccorHotels’ commitment to women: we’re not only celebrating 3 years of commitment with HeForShe but, in December 2017. we also celebrated WAAG’s 5th anniversary!
I’m firmly convinced that women should be free to realize their career potential and have the same possibilities as their male colleagues.
#HeForShe : 3 years already!
In May 2015, we joined the IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative of the HeForShe solidarity campaign backed by UN Women. Our ambition is to ensure that actions to foster gender equality are driven by both women and men, thereby changing mentalities within the hotel industry.
The WAAG, an international network
To achieve our equality objectives, we are drawing in particular on the key role played by our international diversity network Women At AccorHotels Generation (WAAG), which has 10,000 members worldwide. Through the WAAG, we combat sexist stereotypes via internal awareness actions. We also help our female employees to become more confident, notably through the support of a mentor, training and the sharing of experience. Lastly, the WAAG also aims to locally connect to other female professional networks.
#GuessWhatWeShare
All over the world, our employees have been invited to celebrate International Women's Day. For the occasion, the Group's women were able to take part in a worldwide photo contest with the motto: "Get us to guess what you have in common! ». Many of them shared photos, videos and GIFS revealing their interests: foodlovers, art lovers, sports enthusiasts, yoga addicts… Here are 20 of their most beautiful creations:
