Let yourself be carried away by memories of former days that permeate the walls of the new MGallery by Sofitel Galata Istanbul flagship (Turkey).
This 182-year old establishment blends modernity with respect for historical heritage to transform your stay into a tale of a thousand and one nights.
A place steeped in history
The MGallery by Sofitel Galata Istanbul came to life in the Baltazzi Han built by the Genoese in 1836 and already at the time one of the most well-known buildings in Bankalar Avenue. For many years this place housed a bank from the Ottoman era and is also where the Islamic calendar was printed for the first time!
An address in the heart of Istanbul
Your trip back in time takes place in today’s town centre. With its blend of Genoese architecture and modern elements, this MGallery stands out for the quality of its hospitality as well as its unusual design and the services to be expected of a luxury brand.
From one of the hotel’s 83 rooms you can admire the historic peninsula or the 300 year old historical city with the Galata Tower or else the Golden Horn… it’s up to you!
Don’t miss the pleasure of a traditional Turkish bath and the local restaurants as well as the beautiful aerial view of Istanbul to be had from the rooftop of the hotel.
Well-being
The Turkish baths also promise to take you on a journey back in time. Ordered by Kaymak Mustafa Pasha, an admiral of the fleet during the OttomanTulip Period, the Cesme Hammam of the Galata Istanbul hotel was built during the 1720’s. The high ceilings, spectacular dome and the unique patterns formed by the detailed woodwork will take your breath away.
