On the occasion of the closing of the Paralympic Games, Accor celebrates the success of its initiatives and its partnership with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. From the preparation of over 1,700 hotels for more than two years and the mobilization of over 40,000 Heartists® to offer the best of French hospitality, to the implementation of strategic and transformative initiatives around this event, discover the impact of a unique partnership in the Group’s history.

Accor, a Partner of Choice for Sports and Paris 2024

Accor’s teams believe that sport can inspire and bring everyone together, while creating unique moments, which is reflected in the Group’s longstanding commitment as a partner of major global sporting events.

As a hospitality leader in France, with over 1,700 hotels and 40,000 team members, it was a natural step for Accor to support the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through this major event, the whole world has been able to embrace French excellence and the Group’s hospitality expertise, offering a unique opportunity for the future of the French tourist industry.

The Group has also made its digital expertise available to Paris 2024 to provide a comprehensive range of services. For example, the subsidiary ResaEvents set up an innovative digital booking platform for all the hotel rooms available for Paris 2024, combining the Group’s hotel industry expertise and technological innovations, aiming to become the best accommodation and hospitality solution for major sporting events.

Unprecedented Enthusiasm Around Accor’s ALL Loyalty Program

The partnership between Accor and Paris 2024 enabled ALL, the Group’s loyalty program and booking platform, to be the first official loyalty program ever accepted by the IOC to partner with the Olympic and Paralympic Games. An exceptional opportunity to offer the ALL members unique moments and treasured memories, such as going backstage to discover different events and meeting athletes.

The members have widely praised the activations offered (packages with accommodation and access to competitions and/or Club France, prize draws, “Limitless Experiences”, etc.), with more than six million Reward points used over this period, setting a new record for the loyalty program launched in 2019.

Accor’s Hospitality Vision Looking Beyond Hotels

Paris 2024 Athletes’ and Media Villages

Not limited to just hotels, the Group’s actions have been at the heart of this event. As part of a groundbreaking approach in the history of the Games, Accor is the first hospitality group to be entrusted with managing the Athlete and Media Villages. This major operational challenge has been brilliantly met by Accor’s teams, with around 800 people deployed on missions to welcome guests and maintain various areas.

In total, more than 3,000 apartments and 16,000 beds spread across more than 90 buildings have been successfully overseen by the Group, managing cleaning and maintenance services. Accor’s teams have adapted their organizations and ways of working to manage not hotels, but entire buildings created specifically for their future uses (apartments, offices, local leases), ensuring alignment at all times with Paris 2024’s Legacy concept.

Accor has also managed the 10 Resident Information Centers in the Villages, providing information and helping meet various needs, establishing them as a true point of reference for all the athletes, delegations and journalists involved.

The latest operational challenge was the breakfast service offered in the Media Village and managed by Accor. Based on the ibis brand breakfast, this involved serving more than 100,000 breakfasts to journalists and technicians staying in the Media Village.

Club France

Located in the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, Club France has been the dedicated destination for French athletes to come and celebrate their victories with around 40,000 visitors each day. Accor has been part of these celebrations, calling on its expertise with its “ALL Suite” on the main hall mezzanine; workspaces created by WOJO, a coworking sector leader and Accor subsidiary; and the offering from Potel & Chabot, which has also been the official caterer for Club France, as well as the competition venues.

Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony

150 Heartists® volunteered to accompany the athletes during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games opening ceremony. The Heartists® displayed their vision of hospitality by welcoming and supporting the athletes and delegations before the Place de la Concorde parade.

Paris 2024, Accelerating Strategic and Transformation Initiatives for the Group

As a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Games, Accor has capitalized on the opportunity offered by this international event to confirm its role as an innovative and responsible group and move forward with a number of strategic and transformation initiatives. Diversity and inclusion, accessibility and even recruitment have been key factors guiding the Group’s way of thinking, ensuring effective alignment with Paris 2024’s Legacy and Sustainability Plan, which aims to establish positive and responsible dynamics for society following the Games.

As the latest example to date, the Accor brand hotels have worked extensively on accessibility aspects under the French government’s “Tourisme & Handicap” certification program. More than 400 Accor hotels have already been certified or are working towards this with a view to offering a high-quality accessibility approach and promoting inclusive tourism. This initiative and the certification criteria ensure that hotels within Accor’s network address the specific needs of people, no matter their type of disability – whether auditory, cognitive, physical or visual.

The Paris 2024 Games have been an exceptional human adventure and an outstanding opportunity for Accor to showcase its unparalleled sense of hospitality. Whether in the hotels, in the Athletes’ and Media Villages, or with the athletes of the 'ALL Champions Family', who won six medals, all the teams have brilliantly risen to the challenge of welcoming the world to France and creating unique and memorable experiences.
