OUR COOKIES POLICY

Your Digital Footprint

Cookies are the most common form of tracers. Tracers are data used by servers to send information to a web browser or mobile application and then used by that browser or mobile application to return the information to the original server.

The information can be, for example, a session identifier, a language, an expiration date, a response field, etc.

Whilst active, tracers are used to store information when a user accesses various pages of a website or mobile application or when this user returns to this website or mobile application at a later stage.

On the internet, there are different types of tracers:

  • Session tracers, which are deleted as soon as you exit the browser or the website;

  • Persistent tracers, which remain on your device until their expiration or until you delete them by changing the settings in your browser.

On our websites, we use cookies set by us and called “first-party cookies” and “third-party cookies” which are cookies from a domain different than the domain of the website you are visiting.

Our Usage of Tracers

On the Accor SA Corporate website we use cookies and other tracers for the following purposes

These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

Cookies may be set on our website by our advertising partners. They may be used by these companies to create a profile of your interests and serve you relevant ads on other websites. They do not directly store personal data but rely on the unique identification of your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, your ads will be less targeted. Some partners use your hashed email address. A hashed email address is one that has been transformed into a string of characters (e.g., 14ae3dd7...). This string cannot be decrypted, which contributes to the security of sharing your email address. If your email address is known to a partner and has been transformed in the same way, the same string can be found with that partner. The goal is to improve targeting and measure advertising performance.

These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.

A "hashed" email address is one that has been digitally transformed into a string of characters (e.g.,14ae3dd733491c76bd64b942a99acd49b9f2d7ac7f1e74b516f7233443f05af6). This string cannot be reverse-engineered to reveal the original email address, which enhances the security of sharing your email. However, if your email address is already known to a partner and has been hashed using the same method, it will generate the same character string, allowing the partner to infer that it is the same email address. Accor uses partner tools, including Google’s Enhanced Conversions, which involve sharing your email address in a hashed form with these partners when your bookings on Accor brand websites are related to advertising campaigns you viewed on their websites or services. The goal is to measure and improve the performance of advertising campaigns—specifically, to determine whether a booking was generated as a result of viewing and clicking on one of our online ads—and to conduct statistical marketing studies.
