Empowering All Talent

HOSPITALITY BUILT ON RESPECT, INCLUSION, AND GROWTH

Nurturing talent. Creating opportunity.

Within our walls and beyond, we make hospitality a force for fairness, social mobility, and individual development. We ensure that every team member works in a safe, fair, and dignified environment while upholding human rights in our wider communities and for all those impacted by our operations. We unlock potential by creating inclusive environments where everyone can grow and thrive, and we equip all team members with the knowledge and skills to contribute to our sustainability transformation. We create positive social impact in our communities, acting as a social elevator by creating genuine pathways into the industry for people who face barriers to employment.

Safeguarding Human Rights

We are committed to upholding and defending human rights and recognizing their importance and universality, and we undertake to offer every Heartist® safe, dignified, fair and favorable working conditions. We are mapping risk across our activities with internal and external stakeholders, using the methodology of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

We developed and published our Human Rights Policy in 2023, clarifying and reasserting our commitments to fundamental rights and defining our expectations of business partners. We are working on deploying this policy across the Group.

MOBILIZING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance

As a member of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance since 2021, Accor has worked with industry peers towards finding common solutions to address human rights challenges – particularly forced labor – in the hospitality sector.

PROTECTING THE MOST VULNERABLE

We Act Together for Children (WATCH)

In partnership with ECPAT International – a leading voice in the fight against child sexual abuse and exploitation – we developed the We Act Together for Children (WATCH) program to empower organizations and hotels to identify and respond to cases of child sexual exploitation.

LOCAL ACTIVISM SETS A NEW BENCHMARK

Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra, Ghana

When General Manager Isaac Adjei noticed female porters working for extremely low wages in the streets surrounding his hotel, he became an agent of change.

The hotel hosted a multi-stakeholder Human Rights Advocacy Event, bringing together government ministers, NGOs, lawyers, and local businesses to tackle human rights challenges such as unfair labor practices and supply chain transparency.

Training Teams on Ethics and Sustainability

The sustainability transition only succeeds if everyone is part of it. From Housekeeping to Kitchen teams to Management, Heartist® across our network receive training on how their daily actions contribute – whether saving energy and water, upholding fundamental rights, or welcoming guests with a disability.

With 93% of eligible head office teams having completed our School for Change sustainability training program and over 43,000 Heartists® across the network trained to identify and act against gender-based violence, we are committed to ensuring an organization where ethics and sustainability are part of everyone's job.

ACTING FOR EQUALITY AND EMPOWERMENT

RiiSE Network

Uniting over 20,000 Heartists® across five continents, RiiSE plays a key role in raising awareness about discrimination and violence while empowering teams through mentoring, networking and training.

Initiatives in 2025 included women’s networking in the Middle East, “Men as Allies” workshops in the Philippines, and anti-violence campaigns in the Americas and China.

RAISING WATER AWARENESS

Water Week and Challenge

Accor’s first Water Week, a Group-wide initiative held in 2025 to drive Heartist® engagement and raise awareness around water stewardship, culminated in the first Water Awards – recognizing hotels for innovative approaches, team engagement, and measurable results.

The Water Challenge mobilized over 1,000 hotels worldwide, contributing a 5% reduction in water consumption intensity across the Group.

BRINGING HUMAN RIGHTS TO LIFE

Human Rights Caravan

Across the Middle East, Africa and Türkiye region, our Human Rights Caravan brings people together to stand up for dignity, justice, and equality.

The initiative has mobilized over 1,100 Heartists® to create tangible social impact through refugee empowerment, disability inclusion, women-led enterprise support, and child education, reinforcing our commitment to dignified employment pathways, diversity, and equal opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Fostering Diversity and Belonging

Diversity builds stronger teams and more competitive businesses – that means attracting diverse talent, removing barriers to growth, and creating an environment where everyone belongs. Accor has been acting on this conviction since 1970, when we pioneered one of the industry's first workplace gender equality charters. Today, women hold 42% of Executive Committee seats, with a target of 45% by 2030.

Through programs like Reveal Talent, we are removing the structural barriers that keep talented people from progressing. Our commitment to building a workforce as rich and diverse as the communities we operate in is reflected in a wealth of local initiatives, from recruiting 600+ team members from indigenous communities in Australia to supporting refugees into employment across Brazil, France, and beyond.

HOSPITALITY AS A SOCIAL ELEVATOR

Reveal Talent

Over half of hotel team members have no formal education beyond high school – this one-of-a-kind program ensures that doesn’t hold them back.

Reveal Talent identifies Heartists® with potential and provides mentoring and training to help them step into their first management roles.

Deployed across more than 200 hotels in 42 countries, it has helped promote 800+ participants since 2023.

OPENING DOORS FOR REFUGEES

NGO Partnerships Across the World

We partner with leading refugee organizations in Europe, Brazil and Australia to support the employability and integration of refugees.

From culinary training to establishing employment pathways, we collaborate with NGOs in a spirit of welcoming and openness to serve as a social elevator and contribute to inclusion in our communities.

BUILDING EMPATHY AND OPENING DOORS

Accor World Duo Days

The World Duo Days program invites people with disabilities into our hotels to explore hospitality roles firsthand and share their experiences with Heartists®.

Accor Greater China has hosted 570 events over the last eight years, engaging over 9,500 people with disabilities and 27,000 team members. A program built on shared understanding, demonstrating that hospitality is open and accessible to all.

Removing Barriers to Unlock Potential

Each pillar of our sustainability strategy includes one initiative that pushes further, leveraging our scale, expertise, and pioneering spirit to lead the industry and inspire change.

While an estimated 180 million people worldwide face unemployment, hospitality continues to experience significant labor shortages. The problem is not a lack of people, but a lack of pathways.

Our response is to go beyond traditional recruitment methods to build hospitality’s future workforce. By 2030, we aim to certify 20,000 people facing barriers to employment, equipping them with recognized hospitality skills that open doors well beyond Accor.

We have partnered with NGOs – including Inspired by KM, who share our conviction that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Together, we are building structured pathways into hospitality by combining Accor's industry expertise with Inspired by KM’s powerful platform for social impact and inspiration.

Our first joint initiative is the launch of ibis unlocked, specifically designed for young people not in education, employment, or training (NEETs). Through online training in hospitality fundamentals, mentorship from experienced Heartists®, and real-world internships in our hotels, ibis unlocked will equip these young people with a recognized certification and the confidence to build a lasting career in hospitality. Because when we invest in people, we strengthen our industry – and create value that extends far beyond our walls.

Talent is everywhere, but it too often needs to be recognized to exist. Our role is to help young people regain self-confidence, change their perception of their abilities, and envision their future. With Accor, we are creating a concrete framework that allows them to progress at their own pace and find their place.
