Meet Lin Chenqiuwen

A Heartist® Story from Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel - France

For me, being a Heartist® means being at the heart of the hotel's life and culture.

Lin Chenqiuwen

Financial Controller at Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel - France

Strictly Numbers, with a Flair for Flavor

Just a few steps from the Eiffel Tower ౼ where the bustling rhythm of Paris is punctuated by the aroma of fresh-baked breads and haute cuisine, Lin Chenqiuwen has found her own perfect recipe: one that balances precision and passion, logic and creativity. When Lin left her hometown in China and moved to France in 2005 to study mathematics, she had no idea just how many worlds were about to open up to her. It wasn’t long before the rich, sensory world of French gastronomy pulled her in. Strolling the markets, exploring bistros, and watching chefs work their magic ౼ she found herself captivated by a new passion.

Once she completed her degree in mathematics, Lin followed that spark. She enrolled at the prestigious Institut Paul Bocuse, now known as LYFE (Lyon for Food and Experience), a world-renowned school created by the legendary French chef. There, she immersed herself in hospitality management ౼ where operational precision meets the art of creating memorable experiences. It was a perfect fit.

With both a brain for numbers and a growing understanding of hospitality’s emotional dimension, Lin joined Accor in 2005 through a management training program at the iconic Hotel Molitor in Paris. It was a defining moment. From the very beginning, she saw how hotels ౼ especially those with a rich cultural and culinary heritage ౼ offered a unique space where her two worlds could meet.

Today, Lin is the Financial Controller at Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel. Her daily responsibilities revolve around numbers: forecasts, reports, budget plans. But her connection to the hotel runs deeper than spreadsheets. Every morning, she takes the long route to her office ౼ walking through the back corridors where the real pulse of the hotel beats loudest. It’s where chefs prep ingredients, where housekeepers coordinate their shifts, where team members exchange ideas and energy.

“For me, to be a Heartist® is to be the heart of the hotel’s life and the hotel’s culture”, says Lin, a belief that keeps her grounded and inspired. Even on the toughest days, Lin finds strength in the people around her. She still remembers her early days in France ౼ adjusting to a new culture, a new language, a new rhythm. One piece of advice helped her push through: “Everything is possible.” It was a quiet but powerful message from her Food & Beverage Director at the time ౼ and it’s one she now carries forward as a reminder to her team.

What drives Lin today is more than just a love of numbers. It’s a desire to be part of something meaningful: to contribute to a space where people from all walks of life come together, share meals, and create memories. Her story is a reminder that hospitality is built not just on skills, but on heart ౼ and that sometimes, the most interesting paths are the ones we never planned for.
