Bringing Inclusion to Life at Domaine Reine Margot Paris - Issy - MGallery Collection, France

At Accor, we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels respected, valued, and truly at home, and this comes to life every day across the hotels in our network. Over the past decade, this commitment has continued to evolve. Since 2015, we have strengthened inclusivity across our network ౼ from paving the way for disability inclusion through hospitality opportunities to assessing accessibility across more than half of our properties worldwide for a wide range of disabilities.

A key milestone came as we prepared during for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. So far, more than 160 hotels have earned the Tourism & Disability certification, while a further 400 hotels are currently engaged in the certification process. In parallel, over 30,000 Heartists® worldwide received training to better support guests with disabilities. These efforts were recognized with Atout France’s Gold Award for Accessible Tourism in 2024.

Inclusion is about more than recognition. For us, it is deeply embedded in our culture, extending beyond the guest experience to our teams and the communities we serve. In 2024, Accor launched its partnership with Handiwork, a program providing training and support to people with disabilities, allowing them to gain meaningful workplace experiences and discover new possibilities for their future.

Seven hotels initially kicked off this program, welcoming 28 trainees in total. By the end of 2025, 13 hotels across France participated, welcoming over 71 trainees, leading to two permanent hires.

Close to Paris, in Issy-les-Moulineaux, the Domaine Reine Margot offers a powerful example of how this commitment can be woven into every aspect of hospitality. The historic property, originally established in 1606 as a retreat for philosophers and clergy, has embraced accessibility from the moment it opened its doors in 2023.

Accessible guestrooms, barrier-free circulation throughout public spaces, visual and auditory support features, and dedicated training for the team members all help ensure that every guest can enjoy a welcoming and comfortable stay.

Joining the Handiwork program was a natural extension of the hotel’s mission ౼ and for Mouna Dalal, Director of People & Culture, the project also carries personal meaning. Having seen firsthand the experiences of people with disabilities in her own life, she believes that opportunity – not limitation – is often the deciding factor in a person’s success.

Since joining the initiative, the hotel has welcomed eight students, including four who completed the program in June 2025. For many team members, it was their first experience working alongside colleagues with disabilities, making the involvement, openness and commitment of the entire hotel team essential to the program’s success.

This collective effort has helped create a supportive environment in which participants can learn, grow and build confidence. A third cohort is expected to begin in October, aiming to create long-term employment opportunities for participants once the program concludes.

But the hotel’s efforts extend beyond this initiative. As a Green Key certified property, Domaine Reine Margot also advances its sustainability commitment through the estate’s vegetable garden and orchard which provides local, seasonal produce used in dishes and various beverages. That sense of purpose also shapes the hotel’s role within the wider community.

Since 2024, the property has partnered with The Determined Ones, and The Migrant Cooks since 2025, two major French Initiatives sharing one fundamental mission: the professional and social inclusion of people far removed from employment. Through these partnerships, the hotel has supported and trained several apprentices, including one who was later hired on a permanent contract and remains part of the team today.
